The Villager Newsletter

The SCEC has been producing a newsletter since it began in 2003. The newsletter began its current format in Spring 2005, sparked by a need to find a cheaper way to inform the public and members about the events and happenings at SCEC. With every edition, 2000 free copies are delivered to all mailing addresses in Selma, mailed to SCEC members outside Selma, and distributed to a variety of outlets throughout the Illinois Valley.

Today, the committee is still going strong. They meet monthly to brainstorm about articles. The newsletter committee publishes several regular columns, but always welcome more volunteers as well as article submissions from the community. If writing isn't your forte, you can always help fold the two thousand copies and/or substantial distribution throughout the valley. If you would like to submit an article, help with distribution or folding, have a story idea, or would like to have the Villager delivered to your place of business for public distribution, please e-mail us.

The newsletter committee would like express a special thank you to all the businesses who have advertised in The Villager. Advertising revenues have helped to keep the costs of publishing and mailing to a minimum. Please patronize those businesses who advertise in the Villager.

Also, a big thank you those of you who have contributed (or continue to contribute) articles, events, and pictures and to all those volunteers who help to make the newsletter a success. Finally, a huge and on-going thank you to our current newsletter committee which includes: Jan Walker, Joan Guilbert, Linda Meier, Elaine Wood, Marilyn Mooshie, Joan Wolf, Forrest Roth, Marcy Sowa, Kay Nielson, and Laurie Cesario. These people volunteer their time to continue to make this an informative and enjoyable quarterly newsletter.
